About Gianpaolo
Gianpaolo is a Three Weapon Fencing Master providing developmental and performance coaching for fencers.
Using modern coaching practices to develop the physical, psychological, technical and tactical skills needed to excel in fencing.
Gianpaolo runs sessions that range from introductions to the sport of Fencing through to focused training for fencers wishing to compete at the highest level.
In September 2011 Gianpaolo moved to Jersey, at the invitation of Jersey Fencing, to take up the position of head coach at Regent fencing club where he is responsible for preparing Jersey's team for the Junior Commonwealth Fencing Championships in 2012.
Gianpaolo will also be leading fencing programmes for the Education Sports and Culture Department and Schools throughout the Bailiwick.
Gianpaolo coaches fencers of all levels who compete at national level in the UK, Germany, China and Italy.
Currently Head Coach at Regent Fencing Club, Victoria College and St Michaels school, leading the coaching programme and providing individual coaching for all members from beginner to national level.
As head coach at Bedford school he developed the fencing programme and led the school to achieve 2nd in the Howes cup at the Public Schools Fencing Championships in 2011.
Gianpaolo specialises in Sabre and Foil coaching following the Hungarian system. He has a Fencing Masters Diploma from British Fencing and Semmelweis University.
Gianpaolo was also selected and successfully completed a sports coach UK advanced coach development course in 2009.
Gianpaolo has completed enhanced CRB checks and is qualified in First Aid for Fencing
